Commonwealth Games 2022

At the end of July 2022, we stayed at Weston Farm, Weston-on-Avon in order to see the swimming at the Commonwealth Games which was taking place at the Sandwell Aquatics Arena in Birmingham. We particularly wanted to see Adam Peaty win the 100m Breastroke. However, he had broken a bone in his foot just 10 weeks previously and this had taken its toll on his training programme which ultimately lead to a very rare defeat for him. Fortunately, although Adam Peaty was out of the medals (surprisingly only finishing in 4th place), the race was won by James Wilby for England.
